Case Study: Matt Quinn

After completing an apprenticeship with Lakes College, Matt Quinn has gone on to work in a number of different roles including for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Magnox Ltd in talent acquisition before joining travel experts Travelopia.

The apprenticeship and the skills it equipped Matt with have enabled him to work in a huge variety of areas including training, compliance, recruitment, HR, projects and change management.

Matt said: “I would 100 per cent do an apprenticeship again – it set me up in so many ways.

“I would say it’s the best option because, unless you’re going to university for a specific career which needs that background, there is just so much opportunity.”

An apprenticeship is a fantastic way to get the career you want, building experience as you learn on the job and start to earn right away.

Matt said: “My qualification laid a foundation that has allowed me to work in a lot of different areas and be in the job role that I am now.”
