Our new Programming and Networking short course is a FREE opportunity to study two Level 4 modules selected from the parent Higher National Certificate in Digital Technologies course.

Perfect for those looking to expand their understanding of key digital topics with uses in a number of industries and settings, this course is an opportunity to study two higher education modules for free in 16 weeks, with the potential to progress to complete a full Level 5 qualification.

The modules will be taught in a combination of face-to-face sessions and online learning with support for students to engage in independent study.

Modules you will study are:

- Networking (15 credits, Level 4)

- Programming (15 credits, Level 4)

The learning hours breakdown will involve: 48 hours spent in face-to-face sessions on campus at Lakes College in a three-hour evening class each week; 48 hours spent in online sessions delivered in a three-hour evening class each week; and 24 hours spent on independent learning sessions.

You will complete two assessments per module which will be comprised of a range of presentations, practical tasks, written reports and essays.

Entry requirements

To study this course you will need to have at least a Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience, and a GCSE Grade 4/C in English and maths.

Costs

The course is free as part of a Lifelong Learning Entitlement pilot.
