The demand for Energy Technicians, Engineers and Low Carbon Energy specialists is greater than ever in the UK - with new infrastructure projects (including new energy power builds) emerging across the nation at an ever-increasing rate.
This programme gives learners the skills they need to advance and thrive in modern clean-energy industries such as wind power (onshore and offshore), solar PV, hydrogen and heat pumps.
The course uses a range of learning strategies to provide students with an experience of higher education that reflect the requirements for innovation within the low carbon energy industry.

Entry requirements
All students will be interviewed to assess their suitability for the course. Essential: 5 GCSEs (including English and maths at grade 4 or equivalent) or equivalent experience. Expected: Equivalent of 2 ‘A2’ Levels at grade D (48 UCAS points) in a science and/or maths related subject OR successful completion of Lakes College’s Level 3 Bridging Certificate in Engineering, Foundation Diploma or Extended Diploma (or similar qualification) at Pass grade.

Upon completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to ‘top-up’ your Foundation Degree at Lakes College with further studies - we provide a progression pathway to the BEng Honours in Low Carbon Energy Technology.
