Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors.

This includes small and large businesses alike, from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector.

The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services.

Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

Entry requirements

Organisations will set their own criteria and are more likely to select individuals with more advanced inter-personal skills, experience of working in administration duties. You must achieve level 2 English and Maths prior to taking end point assessment.

Costs

The way apprenticeships are funded depends on the size of the employer and the age of the apprentice. Apprentices aged 16-18 working for SMEs with less than 50 employees may be fully funded. Otherwise a co-investment of 5% is payable by the employer, with government funding covering the remaining 95% of the cost. If the employer pays the Apprenticeship Levy this will be used to fund the apprenticeship through the Apprenticeship Service. Actual Cost is: £5000.00. All costs are subject to slight changes.

What next?

Once you have successfully completed the course, you could progress through a management route (completing a CMI course), accounting route (an AAT course) or focus on human resources (the CIPD course), for example or progress to Level 4.
