Working in partnership with the NHS, our T Level Health course has been designed to give students a wide range of hands-on experience to set them up for a professional career within their chosen medical field. Course units include: understanding the healthcare sector; providing person-centred care; supporting health and wellbeing; anatomy, physiology and the diseases and disorders that affect the body systems; infection prevention and control; practical clinical skills workshops.

This programme is the equivalent of three A-Levels and mixes classroom learning and 'on-the-job' experience in an industrial placement for a minimum of 315 hours over the duration of the course.

Entry requirements

New applicants must have five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English, Maths and Science. They must also successfully complete a mandatory assessmentday, and are subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

Existing Lakes College learners must have successfully completed the T Level Foundation Programme in Health. They must also have a GCSE maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or above.

What next?

After completing a T Level you could go on to an apprenticeship, higher apprenticeship, Higher Education and/or degree apprenticeship, or have the skills to enter full-time employment in all branches of nursing from adult and mental health to learning disabilities and paediatric or midwifery.

This could be with Lakes College based on the existing (and growing) offer, or to another provider.
