T Level in Engineering
Be prepared for new and exciting developing industries
The T Level in Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing will help you to develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the engineering industry, including working within the engineering and manufacturing sectors, essential mathematics for engineering and manufacturing, materials and their properties, and business, commercial and financial awareness.
You will study the mechatronic occupational specialism.
Course units include:
- Maintenance, installation and repair requirements
- Fault detection and diagnosis
- Isolation and resolution methods
- Communication for maintenance, installation and repair activities

A two-year qualification that you can do after GCSEs as an alternative to A levels, other post-16 courses or an apprenticeship

Your T Level will be worth UCAS points and recognised by universities and other education providers

Additional information
New applicants must have five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including maths, English and science.
Existing Lakes College learners must have achieved their Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering at Merit grade or higher. They must also have maths and English GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or equivalent.
All applicants must also successfully complete a mandatory assessment day.
After completing a T Level you could go on to a degree or higher/degree apprenticeship which includes studying for a degree alongside a full-time job or have the skills to enter full-time employment.
